What does “refurbished” actually mean?

Every machine goes on the bench for a complete diagnostic — battery, storage, memory, display, keyboard, every port, wireless, camera and thermals — anything below standard is replaced, the drive is securely wiped, and it ships with a clean operating-system install, thirty days of free returns and a 12-month warranty.

Where do the laptops come from?

Mostly corporate fleets and established UK trade partners. Businesses replace machines on a fixed cycle regardless of condition, so business-grade hardware with years of daily use left in it comes back to the trade in known condition from a known source — that is the stock we buy, inspect and renew.

Why are refurbished laptops so much cheaper than new?

Depreciation. A laptop loses a large part of its value the moment it is unboxed, while the hardware loses none of it. The first owner paid for that gap; you pay for the machine. That is the whole discount — there is no hidden catch to find.

Isn’t refurbished just second-hand with a nicer name?

Accepted Answer

Used means sold as-is by a stranger, faults and all. Refurbished means a technician has tested everything, replaced anything below standard, graded the machine honestly and put a 12-month warranty behind the result. The two share an owner history and nothing else.

What do Grade A, B and C actually mean?

Accepted Answer

The grade describes cosmetic wear only. Grade A is like new — minimal to no signs of previous use. Grade B has minor scratches or scuffs that are barely noticeable at a normal viewing distance. Grade C has visible scratches, scuffs or marks — purely cosmetic, with no impact on performance. Every grade has passed the same tests and carries the same 12-month warranty; the grade sets the price and nothing else.

Will the battery be worn out?

Battery capacity is one of the first things measured on the bench, against the machine’s original specification, and a cell that comes back worn is replaced with a new one rather than passed on. That replacement is part of refurbishment, not an upsell.

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every machine is graded for cosmetic condition and photographed as it actually is, so the listing shows the wear you can expect — what you see is what turns up.

What happens to the previous owner’s data?

Accepted Answer

It is securely wiped during refurbishment, before the machine goes any further through the workshop, and the laptop then gets a fresh operating-system install. It reaches you the way a new one would — sitting at the setup screen, with nothing of its past life on board.

How much does delivery cost?

Nothing — tracked delivery is free on all UK orders. You pick the delivery method at checkout, and each option shows its own estimated arrival window before you pay.

You have thirty days from delivery to send the laptop back for a full refund — no fault required. If you simply decide it isn’t right, that is reason enough.

Twelve months on every machine, from the day it arrives — and it is the same twelve months whether you buy Grade A or Grade C. If a fault develops, get in touch and we will put it right.

Yes. Checkout is handled by Stripe, one of the world’s largest payment providers — your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers. Signed-in customers can also save a card securely for next time.
